Once again, United were saved by a late equaliser in the 81st minute. Javier “Chicarito” Hernandez was again their savious as he did many times last season. But the credit does not go all the way for Chicha, as Di Gea made some miraculous saves to keep the score at 1 – 1. Again we see United with a poor performance that barely gets them the point, and the starting line-up was definitely not expected, benching both Wayne Rooney and Chicharito.
Sir Alex Fergie after the game said in an interview that he was happy with one point, as well as it will be a different story at Old Trafford (not in so many words).
With this one point, Manchester City takes the lead of the English Premier League with 22 points after a thrashing 4 – 1 win over Aston Villa while United are down to second place with 20 points. And Chelsea are in third place with 19 points. The EPL has just started.
Next weeks biggest game, and probably a game that ALL EPL fans are waiting for, is the Manchester Derby. What a great game that should be and the end of all the big games (United, City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal) for United but the beginning of the big games for City in the first half of the league.

How long can City be at the top? In my opinion, they don’t have the kind of staying power Man Utd have. If United can regain the top spot after the December break, they gonna fight to stay top until the end (they did so last season after the went top before the Christmas break and saw off Arsenal and eventually Chelsea to win league honours). I think the demands of City’s first Champs League will start top take it’s toll oin the squad…
